2016 WWE HELL IN A CELL PPV PARTICIPANTS’ HISTORY

Like I do every month, I decided to write a special blog looking at this year’s WWE Hell In A Cell Pay-Per-View and each participants’ records and other facts. For the full history of the Pay-Per-View, check out the Hell In A Cell History page HERE on the site and for the history of the actual Hell In A Cell Match, click HERE.

There will be 3 Hell In A Cell Matches at this year’s event, bringing the total count for Hell In A Cell Matches to 36 matches overall & 17 at the Hell In A Cell PPV. This will be the 1st time since 2009 that there will be 3 Hell In A Cell Matches at a HIAC PPV. Since no main event has been announced as of press time, it will everyone’s 1st main event at a HIAC PPV, except for Seth Rollins, who last competed in the main event in 2014 & will be the 1st time that a WWE World Title will be defended in the main event since 2013, & would be the 2nd year in a row someone will be competing in their 2nd HIAC PPV main event, after Undertaker in 2015. No opening match has been announced as of press time. If the Tag Title Match opens, it will be Sheamus’ 1st opener since 2011, Cesaro’s 1st opener since 2014, & the 1st Tag Title Match to open a HIAC PPV since 2013. Since there are 2 Women’s Matches, it will be the 1st time since 2014 that a HIAC PPV will have 2 Women’s Matches on it.
