2019 WWE CLASH OF CHAMPIONS PARTICIPANTS’ PPV HISTORY

As I do every month, it’s time to look at this weekend’s Clash of Champions Pay-Per-View and see the history of all of the participants, as well as other facts about 2019. Even though WWE has Night of Champions & Clash of Champions in 2 separate sections on WWE Network, I will continue to combine them, since Clash replaced Night and has the same theme. This goes on the same line as Taboo Tuesday being replaced by Cyber Sunday. To see the entire history of Clash/Night of Champions, visit the Clash/Night of Champions History HERE. And for any feedback or comments about this, comment below or tweet me (@hbkid718). Thanks.

This year will be the 1st Clash of Champions event since 2017. Even though there was no Clash of Champions in 2018, if someone competed in 2017 & is competing again this year, I will count it as consecutive since they competed on the most recent Clash of Champions event. It will be the 1st PPV since WrestleMania 35 on April 7 that every title will be defended.

Since no opening match has been announced, here are the facts about it. If the United States Championship opens Clash of Champions, it will be the 2nd event in a row after 2017, & only the 2nd time that happened. If the Intercontinental Championship opens Clash of Champions, it will be the 1st time since 2015 & 5th time in History. If a Tag Team Championship opens Clash of Champions, it will be the 1st time since 2016, & 6th time in History. The Women’s, Cruiserweight, WWE, or Universal Title has never opened Clash of Champions. If the Raw Tag Team Title opens, it will be Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode’s 2nd opener in a row & would be Ziggler’s 3rd opener. If the Smackdown Tag Team Title opens, it will be Big E’s 1st opener since 2016. If the Intercontinental Title opens, it will be The Miz’s 1st opener since 2012 & his 4th opener, which would tie him with Kofi Kingston for most Night/Clash of Champions openers in History. No one else on the card has competed in an opener at Clash of Champions. No Non-Title Match has ever opened a Night/Clash of Champions.

Since no Kickoff Match has been announced, here are the facts. No Title has ever been defended in a Pre-Show/Kickoff Match in Night/Clash of Champions History. No wrestler on the card have competed in a Pre-Show/Kickoff Match at Night/Clash of Champions.
