2020 WWE SUPER SHOWDOWN PPV PARTICIPANTS’ HISTORY

Since no Openers have been announced, here are the facts about it. The only wrestlers to compete in a Super Showdown opener was Seth Rollins & King Corbin in 2019 & Kofi Kingston in 2018. The only titles to be defended in a Super Showdown opener was the Universal Title in 2019 & the Smackdown Tag Team Titles in 2018.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: RICOCHET VS WWE CHAMPION BROCK LESNAR

This will be the 1st WWE Championship Match of 2020 & the 3rd WWE Championship Match in Super Showdown History in a row. The WWE Championship has never changed hands at a Super Showdown. This will be Ricochet’s 2nd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020, but 1st ever WWE Title Match. This will be Brock Lesnar’s Super Showdown debut, his 2nd PPV in a row in 2020, & 1st Title Match of 2020. This will be the 1st ever 1-on-1 Match between Ricochet & Lesnar. If Ricochet wins the WWE Championship, he will be the 1st ever NXT North American Champion to become the WWE Champion.

This will be the 2nd Universal Championship Match of 2020, the 1st since the Royal Rumble on January 27, & the 2nd Universal Title Match in a row at Super Showdown. The Universal Title has never changed hands at Super Showdown. This will be Goldberg’s 2nd Super Showdown in a row & 1st Title Match. It will also be his 1st match overall since he defeated Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam on August 11, 2019. This will be Bray Wyatt’s Super Showdown debut & 2nd PPV in a row & 2nd Universal Title Match in a row. This will be the 1st ever 1-on-1 Match between Goldberg & Wyatt. If Goldberg wins, he will be the 3rd Universal Champion to have 2 Title Reigns, after Brock Lesnar & Seth Rollins.

This will be the 3rd Smackdown Women’s Championship Match of 2020, the 1st since Smackdown on February 14, & the 2nd PPV in a row & will be the 2nd Smackdown Women’s Title in Super Showdown History & the 1st since October 6, 2018. It will be the 1st ever Women’s Title Match in Saudi Arabia. This will be Naomi’s 2nd Super Showdown & 1st since October 6, 2018, but 1st Women’s Title Match at a Super Showdown & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be Bayley’s Super Showdown debut & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be the 1st ever 1-on-1 Match between Naomi & Bayley in their career.

This will be The Street Profits’ Super Showdown debut & their 1st ever 2-on-2 Tag Team Match on PPV. This will be Murphy’s 3rd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020, & 1st Tag Team Title Match at Super Showdown. He is the only wrestler in Super Showdown History to compete in a Cruiserweight & Tag Team Title Match. This will be Seth Rollins’ 3rd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020, & 1st Tag Team Title Match at Super Showdown. He is the only wrestler to defend the Universal & Tag Team Championships at back-to-back Super Showdown events. This will be the 1st ever match between The Street Profits and Murphy & Seth Rollins.

This will be Big E’s Super Showdown debut & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be Kofi Kingston’s 3rd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be his 2nd Tag Team Title Match at Super Showdown, making him the only wrestler to compete in 2 Tag Team Title Matches in Super Showdown History & his 1st since October 6, 2018. This will be the 1st time that New Day is teaming up in a 2-on-2 Match since they defeated Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura on December 12, 2019. This will be The Miz’ 3rd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be his 1st Tag Team Title Match at Super Showdown. This will be John Morrison’s Super Showdown debut & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be the 1st Steel Cage Match of 2020 & the 1st in Super Showdown History. This will be Roman Reigns’ 3rd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be Roman Reigns’ 3rd Steel Cage Match in his Career & the 1st since he lost to Brock Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27, 2018. He also lost his other Cage Match to Braun Strowman on Raw on October 16, 2017. This will be King Corbin’s 2nd Super Showdown in a row & 2nd PPV in a row in 2020. This will be Corbin’s 1st ever Steel Cage Match in his Career. This will be the 6th 1-on-1 Match between Roman Reigns & King Corbin, with their 1st match taking place on Raw on August 6, 2018, & their last match taking place at the Royal Rumble on January 27, 2019, with Reigns winning both matches, but in their 5 previous matches, Reigns has won 3 & Corbin has won 2.
